On the early morning of 21st February 2002, the Israeli forces attacked Al-Minter district.
 
The forces shelled the main and the interior entrances, penetrated the place, and confiscated many files and devices. They exploded the transmission and the microwave towers that link the South and North Governorates ,destroyed the second program transmitters and exploded the whole building (2 radio studios ,a TV studio ,and radio and TV archives ) yet, transmission was resumed from a tent near ruins.

Colleague Maher Al-Rayyes ,Deputy of the PBC G. coordinator, Head of the Palestinian Satellite Channel said that the second program resumed, adding, in an experimental transmission on 26 February, that ‘sons of Arafat know very well how to start from nothing; no one will mute the Palestinian voice’.

The Palestinian Journalists Union issued a press release on 21st February stating that the total destruction of the place is a continuation of the occupation crimes against our people; the union organized a solidarity tent in front of the demolished building.
